MOMENTUM NOSTRUM is an absurd, exaggerated fairground spectacle featuring a sort of master of ceremonies who guides the audience through the evening – or rather, through a fairground. As the play unfolds, this character is unmasked as a figure or entity that orchestrates power games. Almost inevitably, questions arise: Why do we actually ‘play’ at war? And why does everyone, including the audience, go along with it? Or will the audience, through their interaction, be able to give the spectacle a different twist?
The set design was developed in collaboration with the Cologne Game Lab, which, amongst other things, created a video game for the production.
The play is performed in three languages with surtitles.
